What can I do if my studies elsewhere were interrupted?

If you have documents to show that you started a university degree, which was interrupted, it is best to:

• Check the Institutionen section on the Anabin website to see if Germany recognizes your university.

• Speak with someone from the International Office of the university where you would like to study in Germany. They can best advise you on where and when you should submit your documents. You can find a list of all the international offices in Germany here.

The recognition of the semesters you spent at university can often be a long process, so make sure to plan enough time (at least 2-3 months) before application deadlines to ensure that the recognition occurs before the deadlines.
