There are different ways to find courses near you.
- Look for universities close to you and contact them directly. Sometimes universities have special programs for refugees and know exactly how to guide you.
- Get in touch with local organizations such as welcoming centers. Special integration programs for refugees are often in place in many countries.
Once you have started the search, you should try to restrict your choices. You can, for example, focus on official city websites or universities in the city you are searching for.
If you are located in Germany:
- You can check universities at study-in.de.
- You can take a look at the Volkshochschule website, there you can find affordable German and English language courses in your area.
- For German courses, you can look at the Jobcenter and the Arbeitsagentur websites, and make an appointment to talk about the next steps.
- You may qualify for free offline German language courses up to B1 as a part of the integration courses offered by the BAMF (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge). These courses usually include language and orientation classes to help you with starting a life in Germany.
