As a Sudanese Learner, we would like to share with you important information about Kiron and the Kiron Campus, as of 27 July, 2023.
In the last weeks, we have received many applications and messages from Sudanese nationals with incorrect information about Kiron. Therefore, we would like to clarify what Kiron is for you.
Kiron is not a scholarship provider for Sudanese or any other nationality in specific. We are also not linked to any first response organizations, universities, or other scholarship providers. We would like to reinforce that we are not a Sudanese crisis management organization.
Kiron is a non-profit organization working to provide learning opportunities for refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons depending on specific conditions. Some courses on the Kiron Campus are available to everyone but, others, including Coursera for Refugees, depend on the legal status of learners. This requirement is part of our partnership agreement.
In addition, Coursera is a US-based company which observes restrictions imposed by the American government. That means that accessibility of the Coursera platform might be limited for learners in Sudan due to these sanctions. You can learn more about it here. We have reached out to Coursera to clarify the access possibilities of Sudanese learners to their platform and we hope to be able to get back to you soon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding! We will keep you informed as soon as possible.
